First interview

I had an interview at Superpharm. It was the first one I've ever had.

It was scheduled for 10:20am and I left around 9:50. When I arrived, I was taken upstairs by an employee, who told me to sit in the kitchen and gave me an application form. It had all the usual things, like references, employment history, first and last name, emergency contacts, and so on. I wasn't able to fill out all the references though since one had to be from a previous employer. The mobile data plan Miche got me came in really handy since I hadn't known what a maiden name was.

The interview started just on schedule. I was brought into the manager's room, where both her and the assistant manager sat. They greeted me and went straight to the interview questions.

-Tell us about yourself.

I answered that I was a recent CAPE graduate with 8 CSEC passes and 5 CAPE passes. I was really into technology, had experience with customer service, and had volunteered at Roystar drugs in Roystonia.

-Why do you want to work with us?

I answered that I wanted to work with them because the atmosphere in Superpharm was one of my favourites, and because I believe it will be good to gain the experience. This was a good answer, it seemed, as the manager seemed to understand it.

-Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I answered that in 5 years, I saw myself graduating university and continuing to work toward my goals.

-What is your career path?

I answered that I wanted to gradually build experience and say, in 10 years, turn my hobby of technology into a career. This seemed to be a good answer, as both displayed approval.

After that, they asked if I had any questions. I asked what a day in Superpharm was like.

They described it as interesting. There were busy days and slow days. If I were to get my role as the cashier, I'd have to both pack and cash and times. They asked if I could handle it. I said I believed so.

They mentioned that I had customer service experience and questioned if I could handle customers well since Superpharm prioritizes customer service. I immediately said that I could.

After that, they said that the application I filled out and my resume will be sent to HR and they'll decide if I'm hired.

Seems like it went well.
