Why I'm always motivated to write

The other day, a friend asked me a simple question: ‘How are you always so motivated to write?’ It made me pause. I’d never really stopped to think about it—but the answer goes back to my childhood. Not many people know this, but I've actually been interested in literature since I was a child-since grade 4/standard 4. The story I was working on was a what-if scenario of someone being transported into the world of Minecraft, but the twist was that creepypasta characters such as Herobrine and Entity 303 were involved and were actively trying to kill them. Not much came out of it, and I ended up quitting halfway. But that wouldn’t be the end of my writing journey. Three years later, when I was 13, I started working on Kingdom Hearts fan fiction and short stories. I ended up making an entire series out of it.  After that, I started my first true fantasy novel called Not Your Typical Fairy Tale.  The first volume ended up being 168 pages long. I was pretty proud of it. After that,...

First interview

I had an interview at Superpharm. It was the first one I've ever had. It was scheduled for 10:20am and I left around 9:50. When I arrived, I was taken upstairs by an employee, who told me to sit in the kitchen and gave me an application form. It had all the usual things, like references, employment history, first and last name, emergency contacts, and so on. I wasn't able to fill out all the references though since one had to be from a previous employer. The mobile data plan Miche got me came in really handy since I hadn't known what a maiden name was. The interview started just on schedule. I was brought into the manager's room, where both her and the assistant manager sat. They greeted me and went straight to the interview questions.  -Tell us about yourself. I answered that I was a recent CAPE graduate with 8 CSEC passes and 5 CAPE passes. I was really into technology, had experience with customer service, and had volunteered at Roystar drugs in Roystonia.  -Why do ...

New book

I finished the outline of the first chapter of my newest project. It should be ready by the end of the week. This is a concept of the cover, which I scrapped after getting advice from my friend Rey. Finished Cover:  This one is wayyyyy better. Description: A bullied girl, a carefree boy, and his enigmatic twin step into the stage of fate. In the "Green City" of Asheville, those gifted with supernatural abilities live hidden from prying eyes, their powers concealed beneath the veneer of everyday life. Amid the city's forests, a singular tree rises, shrouded in a peculiar, ethereal blue mist. As Ezren and his twin sister, Elzia, navigate the rhythms of their daily lives, they become entangled in a web of unexplained events, their ordinary world slowly unraveling into the extraordinary. And through it all, an entity, the one behind the abilities, watches. Link: https://www.wattpad.com/story/401997970-the-world-beyond-the-veil-those-who-fought-against Looking forward to ...

Motherboard continued

It took a couple of hours, but I successfully replaced the motherboard of a computer for my first time. Nice.

Motherboard

An old laptop that had a broken screen finally gave out. The casing was falling apart and had been for a while now. No one really used it except my dad for youtube at night for a few minutes. Since the screen was the main issue-as not only was it cracked pretty badly, it was literally breaking free from the hinges-I removed its motherboard in hopes that I can get it to work again through an HDMI outlet. Long story short, I did. Except...the display wasn't working. The HDMI port is very likely busted. I've got another super old laptop that doesn't work due to a faulty motherboard, so since they're of the same brand and near identical looks, I'm going to try replacing that motherboard with the working one I've got. Hopefully this results in it working.
